This was an assessment on our animation skills, somehow I managed to get quite a high score on this (well a lot better than I expected), but overall I could have done a lot better if I had spent more time on it I reckon.

Mega Man: Main Character Final Model
It is the final model of the main character -- Mega Man (I say that now, but I will probably make further changes). Took forever to make it look right...

[EXPERIMENTAL] 2.5D in Blender Game Engine
This was an experiment I did a while ago, I was trying out an alternative method of creating game characters using 2D sprites instead of 3D models (like Mario Kart 64).

Digital Image Techniques Assignment - Dutch and Flemish still life
This piece of work I have done is based on the work of Dutch still-life artist – Pieter Claesz, more specifically the “Still-Life with Oysters” (figure.2)
In terms of colours and tones, due to the insufficient control I have over the colouring of each individual object in the live-action plate, I haven’t forced the colour palette to be exactly like the original, instead I focused on maintaining the distribution of tones to make sure that an analogous mood could be translated across from the original to my piece.
To accentuate the impression of emptiness intended in the original painting, I have taken advantage of digital video editing and camera tracking to allow my work to exist in a 3-Dimensional space.

[EXPERIMENTAL] Monday Fun with Mudbox
Today, I got a chance to try out the sculpting feature of Autodesk Mudbox as illustrator Neil Roberts came in for a guest lecture on using the software and working pipelines etc. This is what I did with the human base model we were given:
Sculpting in Mudbox turned out to be incredibly fun, I might try to do a few more human facial expressions in the future :)

2011 - 365 Project: Best Of (pt.2)
During 2010 and 2011, I have participated in a project / online community named 365 Project, the spirit of the project is to take a picture each day for an entire year to build a photo diary, so you can train yourself to become more observant to the things you do and your surroundings. In my case, since I am doing most of mine using CG, this gives me a chance to test and play around with different types of compositions.
Here ya go the second part (part 1 can be found here) :-

[EXPERIMENTAL] Monday Fun with Mari
![]() |
Disclaimer: I did not model this mesh!
I used a 3D digial painting for the first time today, and it turned out to be incredibly fun. It feels much like working in a 3D Photoshop, painting stuff in Mari. I am getting really into this sort of paint-on method of texturing and I am definitely going to try Mudbox as well.

Three Conceptual Drawings
|
|
|
|---|
Just thought I should share these conceptual drawings that I have done a year ago. I did the first one in a lecture, in what was supposed to be my notebook for taking notes. The second drawing is based on the "Panserbjørne" armoured bear creatures from the His Dark Material Trilogy books. The third drawing is a concept for a video game villain which I was going to submit to the Rift Challenge 2011 competition.

Finer Vision Viral Video
This was the first live project I was offered. It is a minute long viral video for Finer Vision, a social media agency company based in London.
I have produced this entire video on my own including the opening logo sequence, with art directions and some graphical assets provided by Sean Cowden, head of Finer Vision.

NCCA Group Project The Boy: The Iron Boy
![]() |
| The Robot (a.k.a Iron Boy / Steam-punk Iron Man) |
About the Project
The Boy (Working Title) is a collaborative project that I have
participated in during my second year in Bournemouth University NCCA. It
is a 60 seconds animated short about a young boy's discovery of a
mysterious box, the animation
concludes with him being transformed into a cyborg as a result of
having contacted physically with the uncanny artifact.
My part of the project was to design, model and rig the mysterious box, the boy in his android form and his mechanical transformation.

About the Robot
You can very easily tell I have drawn a lot of inspiration from the Marvel Comic character Iron Man. In fact, I was instructed by the director of the project Chris to create a "Steam-punk, child version of Iron Man". It's not really a ground-breaking concept and the result also looks slightly plagiaristic, however I just really liked the idea and I was eager to see how it would all come to together eventually.
